Sharon Fitzgerald has an article in today's Daily Progress (here) about Albemarle County's efforts on the Crozet streetscape project.
Fitzgerald reports that -- according to County transportation engineer Jack Kelsey -- the County has so far obtained consent from only 4 out of 24 property owners from whom the County needs rights of way and/or easements in order for the project to proceed.
Fitzgerald reports that the project was initially scheduled for completion last winter.
Mike Marshall, chairman of the Crozet Community Advisory Council, says CCAC members are worried that the County's appropriated funds might be used elsewhere if the streetscape project is delayed for too long. Other Crozet business owners, however, are worried about the potential effects that construction could have on customer traffic.
