Albemarle County has done a great job on their website overhaul. The new site, like the old one, is at www.albemarle.org (here).
The site presents a ton of information -- policy summaries, document templates, the Code, the Comp Plan, calendars, the GIS-web, etc. -- in a layout that is both understandable and "easy on the eyes."
As the general internet trend seems to be towards websites that are overly cluttered - sites that try to do too much and thereby become difficult to navigate - the County's new design finds the right balance between comprehensiveness and accessibility. As someone who uses the site nearly as often as I check the Post and ESPN, this is good news!
